NMFSH vs SHSHII (ASH-2)

I got my NMFSH out earlier, wondering how much different these knives would be in use. The NMFSH, with its thick stock and ffg, is my favorite Busse and I have a backup so not sure what to do here...

Well now that we know the specs:

What niche would the ASH-2 fill that the NMFSH wouldn't effectively keep up with? I'm guessing the ASH-2 will weigh in between 21-23 oz.

Its a tough call. I always enjoy the analytics of trying to determine what if any advantages (justification) another knife or firearm might have over something I currently own and I think truthfully as we all well know there is always significant overlap. I think in the case of the ASH2 vs NMFSH there is little to nothing to gain other than shaving off some excess weight and or maybe the preference of the straight handle over the Fusion grip. I no longer own a NMFSH so the ASH2 could almost make sense and for me personally I've come to the conclusion that I like the straight handle over the fusion.

But in your case Rob, why buy a .308 when you already have a 30'06? The answer is because it is typically lighter weight, maybe that given gun just feels better and or you just freaking want it! Do you still have that HHFSH? You need an ASH2 just to have a set of those 3 brother.

To me besides the handle-straight vs fusion there is not enough difference to justify the Ash-2-thicknesss NMFSH, blade length NMFSH, I also MUCH prefer a Satin Blade-to each his own

Dammit brother --- you're right. I do still have that HHFSH and the ASH-2 would really be a cool piece. It would be a lot like the Becker BK9 --- but beefed up.

What do you guys think would chop better the SYKCO 911 vs ASH-2 ----- or ---- the Chop House Thick Cut vs ASH-2

Rob, you have a MOAB and NMFBM I believe and no telling what else, how many choppers do you need-Remember cutting down Redwood's in California is illegal brother, if you like the Ash 2 it would seem to be a great knife at a great price, GO FOR IT!!! (I already know you can never have enough Choppers)

Hey Tommy!

Yea I have the NMFBM and the MOABOLO FFG --- don't have the big bad MOAB quite yet. I definitely want one in the original .40 + thickness. Those are hard to come by for a good price. I'm in no rush though haha.

Yes the NMFSH is amazing and in some ways renders the ASH-2 not too different. For me the thickness and length make it interesting. I'm probably going to end up getting it -- who am I kidding.
