I managed to snag a NMFSH as well, but with the black paper scales. I didn't want to spend the extra coin for the red and black scales for what will be a user. Now I wish I had. Beautiful knife, can't wait to get mine.

I just took a piece of construction paper and to my surprise it sliced it quite nicely. It doesn't feel that sharp but it cut just fine.

Awesome. That is what I hoped to hear! Three out of my four current Busse knives were RAZOR sharp from the factory. The only one that wasn't, was my TGLB which after three passes on a steel rod, it was razor sharp as well. I just wasn't sure if a larger knife such as the NMFSH would be as sharp as the rest from the factory. I look forward to finding out for myself!
