Did you check Busse Company Store first? They still have:

Here's an idea, Nutz: Buy the sage/tan one from the BCS and send it to me up here in the Arctic. Let me keep it and use it a couple of years and see if it turns white. If it does, I'll send it to you so you can have an Acrtic White one. If not, I'll just keep it so you don't have to have the one you wanted. :D
 
Dang! You beat me to that one! I wanted to buy the arctic one to use and see if it would turn green after extended use in the jungle. ;)
 
I'd say buy one from the company store at 327.00, beat the pork out of it. Send it in to Busse for the spa treatment after a while... with the request that they refinish the blade in arctic white.:cool:

Did the offer include hand shaped slabs or g10 slabs, it could be worth the extra cost if so?
 
I have a black/black nmsfno. It is an awesome blade, but I think it's a bit too big for my liking. I have medium sized hands and the magnums are a bit large on the .25 thick steel. But that is just my opinion, and I do not have the experience that most of these other guys have with extensive use of knives.

Greg, thanks for the helpful info. I am a newb and didn't know that Busse could do that? I read that the Arctic coatings were kinda rare (according to bussecollector.com) and saw that some people buy their Busses cause of the blade/handle match.

Nope the handles look like the standard black canvas micarta to me.

Hey NAK,

The info you saw on BC about the white coating being rare is a little outdated now. Just recently Busse has begun offering the Arctic coating a bit more frequently. You should be able to get your knife refinished in that color if you prefer it later.

BTW, I hear that Skunks (he runs the company store) kids need shoes, you would be doing something charitable by helping a man in desperate need.;)
 
Black and blue G10 with arctic would be fantastic. Its a great blade and (I think anyway) it is destined to be highly sought out. If you plan not to use it then I would consider getting the arctic version is you like it. If you are going to use it then get one available at the company store.
