NMSFNO vs. Sarsquatch?? Help me

Youropfor, I may be interested in that. Is your Sarsquatch naturally satin or did you make it that way?

Not being pushy here.....I am new to Busse's this Spring and have yet to put my hands on a NO or variant. I have an excellent shape Sarsquatch user with kydex if you wanna swap for a week and see if you really want to trade. I use them, but don't cut sunroofs out of cars like Ogre :)

Welcome aboard!

For a guy with only four posts on this forum, that is a most generous offer. Very Hog-spirited of you, sir!:cool:

I have both and I prefer the Sarsquatch. That being said, I'm not giving up my NMSFNO. You might want to find a HOG in your area and compare them side by side.

Hmm, that mind be hard. I don't know of anyone in SoCal that knows ANYTHING about Busse knives. In fact, the only reason I do was from stumbling upon that knifetest.com website. That guy does Great reviews, and is the reason I even own a Busse knife. No regrets

A lot of members haven't put their location in their Profile, so of course the rest of us don't know where you are from. I do know of at least one SoCal Porker, but he doesn't post much here lately. You might try starting a thread, asking for SoCal folk in the title, and see if someone can help you out.

Or come to our Chop-In and Hot Dog Roast next Saturday and try out the entire range of Bussekin users! We're only 2400 miles from LA.:D:p

I'm a fan of the SARsquatch.

I have held the Squatch and it felt good, but I haven't had the pleasure of trying one out yet. On feel in the hand I would prefer the Squatch over the NMSFNO, especially on a full day outing.

With all those INFI dimples, his looks like it is one of the competition finished 2008 special editions which is what I would be looking for if I got one, they don't show nearly as much wear with usage as the satin, dcbb or coated ones do. This pic shows the difference between competition finish on the NMFBM up top and the satin finish on the ASH-1 below it. Satin is pretty, but hard to get perfectly wiped clean/dry as you can see in my pic. :o

If you are open to other models as well then I can contribute a bit. I prefer the FSH or SAR 8 over the NMSFNO in that size range and moved out the only one I had. I REALLY like the skinnier (.22 or thinner) ASH-1's in the over 6" but under 8" range better than the 2 SFNO's that I moved on as well. Pair an ASH-1 up with any FBM later on and you have quite a package!

I didn't see a post from Youropfor, but his pics are of a competition finish SarSquatch (they came uncoated, bare unfinished metal, fully convexed), and it appears that he's cleaned up the decarb a bit.

Thank you guys for the welcoming :D. Hey MyMindIsAMob.....I like your lanyard with the thumb-thru.....I am gonna have to try that.

As for the swap...hell we pay plenty to play with them even though I have a hard time bringing myself to break a new one though. Anyways I am trying to say that I currently and have made a couple trade mistakes and it seems obvious that it would be great to try one out before the investment. Maybe kinda like a car purchase....a test drive before a commitment. I am finding the handles...balance....color choice, etc all matter with each size Busse or Bussekin we obtain.

So the offer will stand and no biggie if you don't want to. ;)

Thanks! I came up with that right after I invented the internet.:D:D
Honestly, it helps when carpal tunnel kicks in as an extra security hold.
Sadly, I don't have the blade anymore. I'd have one again and hopefully will when my economy picks back up.;)
