No 27. - One For Me!

Well I have to say you all are making me feel good. But Peter, I can always rely on you to replant my feet on the ground! Thank you for all the positive comments and sheath ideas. I'll repeat this knife this week (hopefully improved) and keep this one! Really.

For whatever consolation it's worth, it found a good home. Now it's time to get on with the next project!

I also have my first Renaissance dagger to make, which is due in May, so that should be fun. I'm kinda stuck on the sheath for that too, so I'm still in sheath idea acceptance mode. :) Haven't done my research yet as you can tell.

Well thanks, the support here has improved me immesurably, and always will.

Dave

VERY SWEEEEEEEET!!!!!!!

Don't feel bad I have had to do things like that when money was tight myself.I did finally get to keep one for myself after a few years..
If it will ease your mind about not keeping this one. When I started out and would decide to make me a knife it would sell every time I would finish. So I had to basically quit telling people it was for me or it would sell.It was kind of cool at first as I kept selling that way.But when hunting season would come around and I didn't have a knife of my own I would have to get to work, and they would sell still.Don't worry you will get to a point one day that you will have more than one of your knives and you will look back and say wow how did I keep all these.

On the renaisance dagger you might want to go with the metal sheath or a throat and tipped sheath.(email me and I will try and explain how I do the throat and tipped sheaths)

Misery loves company Dave. I built the last one (stacked Zebra handle) and intended to keep it. After thinking about it for a while I decided I'd like to offset the costs of this hobby some and sell it. That will be my first knife sale but I still won't have a hunting knife I made. Gee...I can't even hang onto the ugly knives.:D

Dave,

The knife is excellent.

Ever considered making one with a deeper belly? (More along the "Runt" line)

Dan
