No Busse in Knives Illustrated magazine?

I don't want Busse to change. Just observing that their marketing model is part of the tradeoff.

For the record, I like how Busse operates, no complaints. I just thought they were getting the short shrift from a magazine before I realized what was going on.

Although, they should just feature Busse and kin as is, show the knives and explain the sales model, let buyers decide. But the magazines have a sales model of their own, so no ragrets either way.

Busse is a hardcore knife knut brand. Its not for the high volume production crowd.
I like it that way... I do get frustrated from time to time that it's not easier to acquire some models (MOASK, Most Busse Swords, ASH-1 come to mind). I don't want Busse to become a soulless giant production company that thinks adding another handle material to an existing knife is new and exciting. o_O

Besides, with O2W we're not only getting shots at some of those classic blades, but the new Forsaken Series gives us a shot a the greatest "runner ups" to ever be prototype'd!!!:thumbsup:

Agreed, but actually like many of the forsaken series as much, or in a couple cases--more than the originals. Keep em coming! ...but not for a couple of weeks. ;)

Field and Stream did a write up of th FBM as the indestructible knife to have. I feel that magazine gets into more hands than any blade magazine. I like what they do, I have missed out many times but that's ok, it is part of the fun.

If knives illustrated did an expose' of INFI, the magazine would sell out in hours to real hardcore knife nuts. But I am glad they don't. I don't buy the current rags these days as the content is pretty much worthless. Most normal people have never heard of Busse, and I like it that way.

Remember Mike, there's a lot of folks out there who have never seen a television set with tubes, a rotary phone, VCR's. 8 tracks, etc.;)

So I’m at a bookstore checking out a couple magazine and decide to check out some knives, mainly as a break from looking at them online. I figured I’d read on the couch, in bed, on the bowl for a change of pace.

So there’s a special edition of Knives Illustrated, a buyers guide of “over 160 + premium knives and tools.”

They got every brand in here. Emerson, Tops, Fiddleback, Spyderco, even some Busse inspired knives, but no Wauseon Infi magic.

Seems odd to leave out what many consider the best American knife company.

I’m not buying this magazine not because I’m upset, I’m just confused. I won’t buy it because it doesn’t have my favorite blades in it, it seems incomplete.
My guess is Carothers aint in there either, eh?

There's much to discover in the dark corners where true users lurk!

Just like anything else, gotta pay to get air time. For example the brands in all the " Top cigar" lists have payed to be featured there.
True.

Let's not forget all the highend  survival gear advertised too.
