I just wish I could post a link to this one so you could see the POS! Here's the text from the listing.

"Awesome Buck 119 knife
classic strong #119
with original belt hoster
4.5" stainless

awesome
This is likely a pre-1974 knife since it has no markings on the handle other than stainless pakistan in a circle
"

Weren't you aware of Buck's Pakistani operations? More for you to collect Dave :D;)

I don't think they would call that "deal spotting" because no one from this forum would buy it.

What a hoot!

:barf: You really need to see it! The upside is that it does have an authentic 119 sheath. The downside is that it has a BIN of $148.18 + $11 or so shipping. Such a deal!

Well, there are 2 ways I know this is not really a buck 119:

1) the Blade Length on a Buck 119 is 6"
2)and...Buck Knives are Not made in Pakistan!! :)

Good thing they aren't. I don't buy the foreign made Buck knives or foreign made knives from a U.S.A based company for that matter. Heck, there made better here anyway :)

I took a look at it, and it doesn't even slightly resemble any knife that Buck has ever produced.

Well, I'm not so adamant about that. I have quite a few Bucks produced offshore and feel anything with the Buck name on it is a good knife and benefits Buck by their purchase.

True, but I would rather put an American to work in The U.S.A than a worker in China. I'm not saying foreign knives are bad or foreign workman-ship/workers are inferior, but I always try to buy American when ever possible- not just for the benefit company, but also for the hard working people in this country making the knives/goods that I use.

That's a good idea, particularly when ALL the manufacturing of a knife company is moved off shore and that I agree on. However, any sales made by Buck no matter where the knife was made, benefits the American workers and their American distributors because it helps keep Buck in business. ;)

This is not the place to discuss the pros and cons of offshore manufacturing, so this is the last I'll say about it here.

ok, ok. I don't want to get into a pissing match here, just trying to get a message out there that I feel is important.
What do you think about companies that have some knives made in the U.S.A but the vast majority of them are made overseas?
-not to jack your thread or anything....

Is the seller from France? It could be another extremely rare vintage Buck knife:eek::)

Those type's of items make me smile. Almost as much as the Duke 500 that is a plane jane wood handle listed as "rare" with a $250 price tag:)
