• Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! I hope that you all have something to be grateful for this year and for many years to come
  • America has reached 250 years, and I am grateful to be here, in the best country in the world. Thank every one of you who helps make this country a better place, those who have gone before and risked it all, and those who've paid the ultimate price to make the United States what we are today.

Happy Birthday America! Let Freedom Ring for all time!

No detent ball??

i think the reason they switched to the ceramic balls is the wear factor more than the slick factor...actually the stainless ball will slide smoother than the ceramic one, but the ceramic one is rockwell off the scale and will never get a flat worn in it, which would greatly affect the smoothness and the opening factors.

Actually Tom the ceramic ball in my sebenza has worn. It still keeps the blade closed firmly, but you can see that it's worn if you look closely. This is after many thousands of openings (about 9000). It seems that the ball will be the first thing to wear. Although the ball is much harder than the steel, one part of the ball is constantly wearing, whereas the contact on the steel is an arch with much more area.

All sebenzas made after CRK switched from steel to ceramic should have a ceramic ball.
