NO-E is ... Over the Edge!

Mailed it off this morning to Rescue Mike.:(

Did not test it in the same manner as Jamie did(as I think he did an excellent job)

I tested it from a Martial aspect.(started Martial Arts in 1969)

What does it feel like in hand,How accurate are the cuts,How Deep,What is the recovery period from one cut to another,etc....

This knife surprised me from the minute I opened the box.Lighter and more comfortable that I expected a knife that size to be.Grip was secure in all positions tried.

Easy to control and a true pleasure to use as well.

It was my first "E" handle Busse--and I see what all the fuss is about.

The ONLY thing I did not like about it?????

Is the fact I had to send it to MIKE.....:(

Thanks again Chris for the pleasure of using this fine knife

Bill, I'm glad you got to play. Thanks for your review.

I suspect Tyrkon may also have something to say about the blade from a martial arts perspective as well. I seem to recall it was he who was swinging his AK in a vid when he first got that. I just remember thinking, "Note to self--NEVER piss this guy off." :p

Hell---any man holding an AK would be a terror(more so if trained)

and again--it was very nice of you to allow the rest of us to enjoy your fine knife.

The bird has landed. Actually I was able to get it yesterday. I have been swamped at work but amy review is forthcoming. And soon. WITH PICS of course. Maybe a vid clip as well. Thanks again OTE. :)

Thanks for the heads up!

So are you going to try to slice through a phone book with her? If so, make it a BIG one, you know--NYC or LA. No small-town phone books allowed.:p

I'll have to see what I have left. My wive is going to kill me if I keep taking her phone books. :p I think I have some pretty thick science supply catalogs here at work. Stay tunned. :D

Here is a quick clip of OTE's Outlaw in action. A little cutting, chopping, thrust into kevlar vest (Morimotom's donation) and batonning.

The Outlaw next to my BATAC SE for comparison.

Afterwards the Outlaw has a few extra rub marks on the coating but otherwise in excellent condition

Tyrkon,
Thanks much for the pics and mini review.

That video is pretty awesome. When I first saw you do that awhile back, I tried it with my AK with the factory edge, but it was a no go. You must have sharpened the NO-e up very nicely!

Thanks for partaking! :)

Oh, and BTW, (honestly) how do you like it compared to your BATAC???

OTE: I honestly have not touched the edge on your Outlaw. I usually use my Edge Pro to get my knives scary sharp but your Outlaw came plenty sharp. I may just strop it but that's about it.

If I had to compare the "E" handle and the tac handle on my SE I would have to say that the tac handle on my SE fits me much better. I can manipulate the blade faster. But that's just me.

But your handle is slimmer than any "E" handle I have had in the past. It is an excellent fit and produces no uncomfortable spots on my hand. This knife is really quick in the hand. A natural fighter. But it is built like a tank and can handle anything you can throw at it. The blade shape also lends itself to excellent penetration.

This is one of those knives that, if I could only choose one, I would choose. It chops very well for a knife its size. Excellent batonning and prying. Just an awesome all-arounder.

Thanks a bunch for the chance to check this variation of the Outlaw out.:thumbup:

Nice Video Tyrkon! One thing, I would like to have known what the thickness of the chopping board was. 3/4"?

I was really (pleasantly) surprised to see that knife taking out so much wood in some of your chops. It was very cool to see! Now if I can only figure out how to save that video.

I have never tried to save someone's vid from photobucket. Hmmm. Good question though. What you could do is try something like the KeepVid or vixy.net websites. That might help. I'll try later.

Agreed! I really had NO sharpness problems while the NO-E was with me. :D Just straightened the edge a bit, is all.

Hello all,

I was the last one to get quality time with OTE's outlaw.

The knife is now on it's way to the shop for some TLC, and then on it's way back home.

I got the slice some air with the knife and found it to be a very "weapon" like tool in the hand. This knife feel like it would fight very well. I did chop a little more than air, I took down a bit of green bamboo and found that it can handle it's own on soft vegetation.

Thanks for the chance to participate.

Thanks to all who participated. I hope it's been a memorable time for you guys swinging this thing around.

Garth, if by some strange twist of fate you see this, please send her back soon. I have been having some serious withdrawal, the kind even scotch is hard-pressed to take care of. :D

Thank you for the opportunity, sir. It was sweet!! :D

You must really have the shakes now ... how many months has it been?

And it did not come through totally unscathed... :grumpy:

You are a brave man, for an INFI addict. :D
