No excitement for the Ti Lum?!

I just got a Ti Lum. It does not seem as well constructed as my other Lums!

This one has the liner bent to form the lock. This causes an extra gap along the lock side of the liner.

Also, the handle slabs are different thicknesses. This ruins the symmetry and allows the skinny slab to flex. My other Lums do not flex!

Finally the gap between the blade and the slab at the pivot end is huge. It looks a little sloppy. I think the spacers force the gaps to be asymmetrical, too.

This may be my last Spyderco Lum. I want the carbon fiber version, but, not if it is this "new" design...

The Ti Lum only has 1 liner making the locking side thicker than the opposing Ti side.

I have not bent my Lum to see the flex, but I have heard from another member that you can gently flex it. But what purpose does the Lum serve? I never thought of it as a heavy duty knife, but more a Light to Medium edc knife.

On my Lum with vg10 black coated blade and green Almite Al handles the Lock up is too early so the added lock up makes me more comfortable cutting with this knife.

So far it's been doing great for me and have not had any issues functionality wise. My only gripe would be the fact that it is not your normal glove like fit, but that goes along with the design.

Lovin' the Ti Lum! :D
