In a recent thread some one was discussing how fib's are illegal in their area (sign of the times I suppose) but it got me thinking legislation like this could potentially effect any of us...If that was the case in your area (other than moving) what than would you choose to carry for you adventures?

maybe they ment illegal to carry? Most places you cant walk arounf downtown with a fixed blade anyway.
p.s. I'd carry what i usually carry. Either my SOG Flash II or CRKT Cruiser, or Emerson Hard-use knife. And probably a Hatchet :)

A vast majority of tasks can be accomplished with a folder- some game butchering would be a PIA without an FB, but most other tasks are fair game with a folder.

In Maryland fixed blades are legal to carry in the open not concealed. You have to use common sense where and when you carry it. Plus how you present yourself. I carry a fixed blade all the time and have had it on my belt in front of cops when I've gone into a store. I also live in a rural part of the county when knife carry is common, plus I'm allowed to carry a knife at work. :D

If I couldn't carry a FB, I woild chose a SAK, Delica and Spyderco Manix.

Although, I don't think it is illegal anywhere in the USA to take a FB on a camping trip.

I guess my farmer or OHT, maybe an opinel or buck 110.
Thats about all the folders I own, about 25 saks and a few randoms.

A lot of states have restrictions on the SIZE of the fixed blade you can openly carry legally. I have carried my FB's openly, some of them quite large in public from time to time. Of course I was dressed like I was headed for the bush, which I was.

Man, if I were a cop and saw a long bearded crazy man with a fixed blade, I'd confiscate it right away. :p

Not just to protect the public, but also because I know I just got one of the best-made knives on the planet. :D

Dude if this ever happened I would beg mike to make a bark river folding aurora, or bravo.
I would camp there and not take no for an awnser!!!!!!!

Fortunately, barring local ordnance, I can carry open any size fixed blade I want, and with my CWL, I can carry any length fixed blade I want as long as it's concealed, local ordnance or not.

I've carried various Emersons for edc and in the woods, so would probably carry my Commander or the new cqc16 and a sak.

Well, I would carry a fixed blade. Or I would move out. If the latter is not possible, then I'll carry a fixed blade regardless. There are laws to follow and then there are laws to disobey. A ban on fixed blades would be the latter, in my opinion.

If I couldn't carry a fixed blade I don't think I'd bother going on any adventures !!!

LMAO. :D I heard on the radio someone offered Billy Gibbons (ZZ TOP) a million bucks to shave off his beard. He declined.
