No Flames here, just real CS love

I have a bunch of Cold Steel products I bought before I found out that it was politically incorrect to like Cold Steel. My favorites are the SRK, the Master Hunter and Recon Scout, all in Carbon V, whatever that is. Whatever it is, it is sharp as Hell!

3 I've used and abused, in fact Chris Stamp would be proud of the abuse.

I'm sure he would, whoever he is (Cliff's brother:confused: ), but would Cliff Stamp be proud? That is the question.:D In case you didn't know it, Cold Steel actually named their company as such, to utilize Cliff Stamp's initials, "CS".;)

Count me in for a full ton of praise for Cold Steel's products.

Cold Steel's methods and variety in presenting their knives to us, from the color photos in their large format mailers/catalogues to those flamboyant DVD's have often helped me better understand just what I'd be getting from them, and certainly better than most other manufacturer's ad methods that I've seen to date. I'm not too susceptible to advertising, but through 15+ years and somewhere over thirty of their knives, but I've never felt deceived by them either.

IMO, they give a quality product for a fair price. Due to that level of quality and price, along with a constantly evolving product line, I'm quite certain that I'd enjoy knife collecting (and using) a lot less without Cold Steel around.

[I have a buddy who is an engineer who used to work for NASA, and who has BTDT to include using a CS folder to defend himself from and cut up an attacker in a nearby third world country, who owns at least 17 CS knives.

From an engineer's standpoint, he recently explained all the subtle construction & design nuances of the R-1. I had never heard a knife described in this manner, and it was quite interesting.

I would consider posting this email (with appropriate editing) if others are interested...[/QUOTE]

i'm interested in the SD story a s well the explanation for the R-1

I've got a couple of CS tomahawks. Stripped the L33t M4ll N1nja t4ct1c4l bl4ck coating off of them, so they look a bit more traditional now. The Trail Hawk is a nice light thrower, but a little small for use as anything but a thrower or a weapon. The Rifleman's Hawk was a major PITA because the eye taper won't fit a standard CS hawk handle. I finally cut down and trimmed a sledgehammer handle to fit it, and now it is one serious, practical axe. A great little camp/hunt axe, fun to throw and large and heavy enough to use for felling things. Cut my Xmas tree down with it last Xmas.

I wish that it was socially acceptable to EDC those things...

I've never had a problem with the 4 CSs I've got. Quality seems really good. I recently saw the proof DVD and I bought another CS as a result. Their tests show they produce a very solid product.

1) tanto spike
2) kobun
3) mini tac
4) frontier hawk ( modded head and handle)
5) medium tanto voyager
6) heavy machete
7) light machete
8) delta dart

Cold Steel does not make an EDC to suit my life style. For some reason I'm not sold on CS's slip joints.
