My boss brought a customer over to my office and said "Mark, show this guy some of your good knife handle wood".
I showed him some of this stuff.
He stood next to the light on my desk moving a piece of this Koa around under the light.
"No Freakin Way, This can't be real" is what he said.
After a little while I had to toss him out of my office so I could finish taking pictures.
About a half an hour later a lady came to my door and asked if she could see the wood her husband kept talking about.
I figured she meant the Koa and showed it to her.
She said, "I want that one".
I answered "they are kind of spendy" and she said that was ok.
She bought a $70 set of Koa scales. When I asked what they were going to have made with them, she said "probably nothing, my husband just likes to look at them".

I have a large selection of pictures gleaned from this fine vendor, even if I do primarily buy his lot sales, but have to sneak a piece of premium material once in a while. I pity the rest of knifemakers as soon as one of us wins the lottery and puts Mark on retainer!!
 
I have had to quit looking at Mark's stuff for fear of running out of money.

Looks like Mark squeezed more money out of my bank account. But it's for a good cause... gotta keep him in business! :)
