The answer to every question regarding why a manufacturer acts in a certain way, whether its "appeal to the masses" or pay for an online forum, is
money. Knife (and gun, etc.) companies don't exist to make us happy, though that may be a byproduct. They exist to generate revenue. This explains, for example, why Glock inexplicably will not make an OEM 15-round magazine for the G43X and 48. Glock apparently thinks these mags would eat away at G19 sales. Its revenue. The same holds true with Spyderco (salute to Mr. Sal), Benchmade, Kershaw and the all the rest. They each are acting in their own best interest, which is not necessarily a bad thing. Its just a benign fact. But it does help explain why sometimes they do X when we want Y.
