My wife and I just did Christmas for each other. We always do this when the kids are in bed sleeping. Kind of helps us keep Christmas special for us since the rest of it is a mad house between two families.
Anyway, I was not expecting her to give me a long awaited CRK Large Micarta BUT it says IDAHO MADE!!!!
I know some of you are very proactive for the stamp but this is the first time I have seen it first hand. It looks terrible. I want to use another word but I do not feel like an infraction on Christmas Eve.
I will keep the knife simply because the wife gave it to me and I never ever get rid of the finer things she gives me whether it be guns, knives or nice watches.
However to keep the Christmas spirit bight I must say this is one fine knife. The fit and finish is perfect and the deployment and closing is awesome. VERY SMOOTH!!!!

I am getting exactly zero knives from my wife so quitcherbitchen. :D
Enjoy the CRK and relish the idea of having an excuse to buy yourself another! In the end, the worst case is that you've got one to use and one for the shrine.

Today I went to Plaza Cutlery and picked up a Christmas present for myself. I pulled the trigger on the prototype ti lock, number 10 of 25. It has Idaho Made on it. Doesn't bother me a bit. I also have a large left hand LE in beautiful spalted maple with Idaho Made anodyzed gold and again it's not such a big deal to me. I guess I decided to keep everything in perspective, (oh wow after midnite Merry Christmas friends and fellow CRK fans!) while Idaho Made isn't what I initially thought to be such an awful thing, it's a small price to pay for the ability to enjoy such a fine quality knife. It's important to Chris to have this on his knives and he's never let me down so I'm more than willing to put up with and maybe even learn to appreciate the Idaho made stamp. It sure is refreshing to see that versus every other item in my life that says made in China. Anyway just my thoughts BBQ boy, enjoy your knife cherish your wife and have a wonderful Christmas and everthing else!:p:cool::D

For such a nice gift, and all the sentimental value I'm sure it has, I imagine the Idaho Made stamp will not mater too much? Sounds like you have a keeper if you ask me.
Oh, and pics of the offending knife? :D Never get tired of seeing a Sebbie

I got a Sebenza 21 a few months ago for my anniversary and it didn't have a stamp. I was just really happy to get the knife. I hope you get to enjoy the knife, sounds like a great present!

You never know, but someone might be willing to swap handles with you. Just a thought.

BBQ Boy:

Now you know how it feels to own a Strider.

You get an expensive knife, only to discover "flaws".

I sure wish my wife had given me a knife with the dreaded Idaho stamp. I would find a way to suffer through it.

I also collect watches and I remember when Rolex added "ROLEXROLEXROLEXROLEX" around the inner bezel and people for the most part didn't care for it. The thing is life goes on and people thoughts change, give some time brother....

Congrats to you new Sebenza.
Just use it.
Mine says Classic MM on it. Do I need that to know what moedl it is? - no.
When you use it, it won't matter.
All the best
