I ordered some paracord from EMSonline and when I received the package it was sealed with packing tape that was pre-printed.....
NO KNIFE - NO KNIFE. It struck me as kind of odd, (and funny)

Do they ship knives with "KNIFE" - "KNIFE" tape I wonder?

Is this common practice? I never saw it before.

Perhaps that's their way of indicating that the package can be dropped off without an adult signature, since it does not contain items that are considered potentially dangerous. (Forgetting, of course, that paracord can kill you, too.)

Much as I would like to reply with a witty comment, I believe the "no knife" on the tape is to caution the person who receives the package not to use a sharp implement to open it and damage the goods inside.

Mike's right! It is just to warn you that the contents could be damaged if a knife were used in opening.

Hey, dat must be why da packages my family sends me say "No teeth -- no teeth" on them!

There was a "No Knife" warning on the cardboard box of a 24-pack of bottled water I bought.

I ignored it and opened the box with my Nack Pro utility knife. Just from *touching* the sides of two of the bottles with the knife tip, they sprang pinhole leaks.

I learned my lesson!

Or it could be like the folks who put No Radio on their windshields of their cars, in the hopes it doesn't get broken into.

No knife!!

I suppose it would help some if the indicate:
DO NOT OPEN WITH KNIFE. It's like when you buy a cup of coffee at McDonald's or Burger King. The cup reads: CAUTION, CONTENTS MAY BE HOT. Gee, you think?

I know this is a bit off the subject, but did you ever notice the Silica packets when you buy a brand new pair of shoes? They read: DO NOT EAT. Really! Who the heck is going to eat something they find in a shoe box? Are people really that dumb?

el cid- yes, people are that dumb. If they weren't we would not have lawsuits like the McDonald's coffee one or the large amounts of $$ given to people like that.

I found a boxcutter at work that had a bright orange sticker on it-"BLADE IS SHARP". That sticker looks pretty cool on a AFCK.

Thanks for the info guys, though i feel kinda dumb now.
I would of expected it to say no, "Do not open with sharps" or something like that.

Oh well, I'm a schmuck!
