No Lube Sebenza?

I probably tend to over lube and then use the compressor to blow out the excess. With the CRK grease it doesn't seem to pick up too much junk but then again I still hit it from time to time with compressed air.

Agree that the CRK grease doesn't seem to pick up much crap. Tuff-Glide is the absolute worst, at least in my experience (when used as a pivot lube).

Got a pre-owned sebenza in the mail. (my first) I don't have any crk grease but I do have miltec which I have used on my knives for years with great success. Do I NEED the CRK Grease or will miltec be just fine?

Lube it up. Metal on metal in any form or fashion will result in abnormal wear. The blade and the titanium is pretty tough, but the bronze washers while hard will take the brunt of the damage over time. I know CRK will replace the washers, but you have to send it in, pay shipping, and be without your knife for awhile. Its not worth it when a $15 tube of lube can fix it all.................... As for the dust and lint. Thats what a toothpick is for. I have carried sebenzas and umnumzaans for a year or more without having to take them down. In my experience, the only thing that will speed the need for lube is to wash them often. Other than that, the day to day cary dust will not effect anything.

After using the CRK grease, I won't be looking back. I definitely noticed a difference between it and the rem oil i was using previously, it's just ridiculously smooth now.

That's your decision. CRK says their grease is what should be used. Internet pundits say you can use whatever. I use the grease and it works like new. I called them up and asked, they said oil is not sufficient. They suggested that if I did not want to take it apart and lube it every year or so, to send it in and they would do it for me. I do it myself.

Just a tiny bit of lube is all you need... smear it around a bit with a Q-tip and your good to go...

The CRK grease works nicely.. and considering your not needing to apply it every single day 1 tube will last for a long time...
