There are no "knife stores" that I know of in or around my state, no place to trade or purchase high quality knifes other than what you might find at Walmart or a hardware store or the internet. I want a place that I can walk into and pick up a knife and get a feel of it, how heavy it is, the handle material etc. I've been to Cabella's and Bass pro and they are all the same, same knives, same price, mostly Bucks and Case knives maybe a Spyderco or a Benchmade if your lucky but thats it. Now I'm not saying these aren't good knives but I own or have owned at least one of em. Anybody else experiencing the same problem?

You bet. There just aren't as many knife stores out there as there are 7-11s. 
And a lot of guys even come here to say they go to their local knife store, try out a half dozen likely purchases, decide which one they want, and go home to buy it cheaper on the internet.
How long do you think THAT local store will stay in business?
Life goes on ... we do have a few stores around the New York City area and we do have knife shows we can go to, but most of them are customs. Here in New Jersey we started up a knife club (see the NJKCA in my sig line) and we get together every month to show off knives old, new, and interesting.
Maybe you can round up a dozen or so knife knuts in driving distance and do the same. If you're interested, I can go into more detail about how we got our club going.
