No S30V in new Natives?

I've been wondering, and I'm sure there's a good reason for this, but why are the new (Bi-directional/wire/FRN and CF) natives all make in Seki out of VG-10? Me personally, I love opening my Spydies and seeing the USA, Earth tang stamp. To me it adds character to the knife. (Same with the T-Mag and the "Rare Earth" stamp).
What was the deciding reason to move (at least blade) production to Seki?

Ah. Back to my original question: Why aren't they being made in in Golden?
Perhaps because, between the Military, Paramilitary, UKPK, Chinook, P'kal, Native I, Citadel, Embassy, SmallFly, Szabofly, and the upcoming Leafstorm - their production capacity was already full utilized?

But that's just a guess.

I know that it's a limited production item and being used to test the waters before Golden commits to switching FRN Native production to the new design. If that happens, as has already been mentioned, the FRN version of the Native IV will be made in Golden. I presume those will use S30V, if that's still the steel of choice for Golden made knives.

I like golden spydies but I hate to say it but I think the japs craftsman ship is better...I have gotten golden knives that are ground wrong and not semetrical but every seki knife i get is perfect. I'm ok with a seki native...it really only matters how it cuts anyway.

Please do tell?
Kevin Wikens design. Picture and description available in the 2009 Spyderco catalog which you can download here. Should be available before this time next year.

Yes, but I wish it was in S30V. I've never gotten a golden knife that's been ground wrong, or had any qc problems at all. Maybe I just don't buy enough of them.

Am I understanding right?

Is there going to be a FRN Native 4 ??
if the new version sells well.

I think the goal is to "modernize" all the spyderco classics in the same way the delica and endura were. 4 way clip, skeletonized liners, maybe grind updates. There is supposed to be a g10 version of the dragonfly too, and maybe an updated frn version after that.

How about a G-10 Native in S30V? I like Spyderco's FRN work, but G-10 just sings to me.

Every one of my spydies, golden or seki has been nothing short of perfect :) I do wish the new cf model were s30v or I could dare to dream in BG42.

Because it's being made in Japan, and they don't like to use imported steel.

Yes, the japanese like to use their own steel that's for sure, and they are the top three steel makers in the world. But for the price point on the new CF native I think it should be made of zdp 189.:o
