No shop, little room, Ideas?

It has been a good while back, but I recall one European maker who lived in a small apartment in a crowded city (Munich?). He built a rolling "box" out of an old wardrobe trunk with two bicycle wheels on the sides and a handle on the end. He would roll it out of the apartment to a nearby park and open it up. Inside he had a thing like a workmate, a folding chair, and all his hand tools needed to make simple kitchen knives. He would saw, file, sand, etc. as he sat in the park. He sold a lot of knives to people who came and watched him. IIRC, he sent the blades out for HT.

Probably not as good an idea to sit in the park and make knives today, but you get the idea.
