No Temper Line

ThAt one was on the auction site earlier this week. It went for a pretty penny. To rich for my blood this for sure but still a nice axe.

Is it bad when there is no visible temper line on an ax?

There are air hardening steels which don't require quenching to harden. An axe made with one of those A-series steels wouldn't show a quench line.
