Anyone with more then just a few knives I am sure has this list...the "No Use" list..the "I like this knife so much, or I spent SO much on this knife that I am not going to use it, just have it and admire it" list.

Well...I have a few knives, and 2 of mine on the "No Use" list are the Kershaw Offset and the Kershaw Tyrade. Today...even though my conscious fought me about spending this much on a knife at this moment (to which I won), I ordered a ZT 0300. So with that coming as well, this for sure would go at the top of the No Use list. So my question is this: I was thinking, Life is short..I should take at least one of these knives off the No Use list and use it and enjoy the knife...so if you were me, which knife would it be and why..? ALSO..when replying - let me hear what is on your NO Use list...curious to see what others feel is so precious that they dare not ever use it, just admire it :-)

My KO Forum Bump and Kershaw 25th Anniversary are on the no use list. The Offsets are not likely to see much use, the Tyrade.... maybe, just maybe, My Mini Tasks, 2 of 3 Random Tasks and Ricochet aren't likely to see any use, only one of the 20ish Bumps sees any use. The G10 Leek collection won't see much use....... I guess it's easier to put it this way; If it is regular production and I have more than one it will see some use...... I get the feeling this isn't much help to you;)

My conclusion, It's complicated.... see what you have to look forward to as your collection grows:D

I use everyone of mine some. Some less some more...

I have a ZDP/Ti MC on the way that won't see the light of day.

I don't think I qualify for this discussion, although I do have one Wild Wild Turkey that I actually use !!! Ha !

LOLz - I've been using my Sebenza, cause it's meant to be used ;). If it's not an art knife (which, IMO, is still rather odd phenomenon), then use it.

So far I don't have any Kershaws on my 'no use' list, simply due to the fact that I enjoy using all of them. However, I do have a Buck custom 110 in Sambar Stag that I just oggle. OK, and perhaps a Spyderco Volpe that I can't bring myself to use. :o

My RAM is "#1 of 500" so I don't use it. ;)

Just kidding. I find it hard to use my Tyrade (when it's not in storage), but I don't know why. Even though my Giants JYD2 is a one-of-a-kind, I feel like it deserves to be used and carried because it IS such a nice piece.

Maybe if I had a Ken Onion Custom Taboo with Grey Titanium Handles and Red Carbon Fiber insert and a polished S30V blade...that would be a hard one to let loose on some dirty cardboard or a bag of dog food.

Well, I use my Tyrade and ZT 0301 all the time. ZT gets more pocket time as of late though.

I have a few that don't get to see light but 2 or 3 times a year when they are "inspected" :D
I have quite a few one-of's that will never get used.

There's a lot of fun in it for me to actually use it, that's where I get my satisfaction. Prep dinner one night with the Tyrade, one night with the leek, and see how they compare against the kitchen knives. Then use them for a little carving, and so on. They may be nice to look at, but they're better to use. :)

When I got my first RAM marked 1 of 500, I bought 2 more so it gets no use.
Of the other 2, one is a backup of my EDC, which it has been since I got it.
My Random Task was used slightly when I first got it. It's a no use knife now
until I hand it over to my son....along with the rest of my Kershaws. With that
said, I try to be a user and not a collector, but man......it's really hard to pop
the cherry on certain knives even though they beg to be used. I do have one
special knife (not to be named) that will never as so much pop a hair.
It came from a great and dear friend here, who knows who they are. :)

S60V Blur, coarse G-10 Leek, Random Task, a "different" ENER-G II (don't ask, I'm not telling!), Minted Honker (a gift from a great friend), a "special" one that was also a gift from another great friend (don't ask about this one either), and then there's the boxes of SG2 and ZDP in different frames, Talons, sets of blue Blurs, black ENER G's...I could go on...but not nearly as far as Dave!

This is making my head hurt. Who's idea was this anyways?

J-Curd, just the texture. You can get G-10 in a variety of textures. We usually use medium or coarse.

I don't have such a list. I use all of my knives. I use some more than others, but they all get used.

I've got a Tyrade that I won that has gone into my "no use" section. Right now, it's the only knife in that section.

I use every single one of my other knives, from limited edition Benchmades to a Sebenza to higher end Spydies.. But for some reason, I just can't seem to use that Tyrade. It's so pretty, and I have so many other folders that can do the job just dandy.

Curious - what price range are all the knives that you own? I am curious to see what your most expensive knife is that you use. I have 3 over $150 each and I am trying to get myself to use them for everyday stuff...but I just can't seem to get myself to do so..

Your questions wasn't directed at me, so forgive me for intruding. I just wanted to mention that I have a $150 Benchmade Mini-Rukus that just happens to be my most expensive knife... yet I have taken it hiking with me this summer. It was meant to be a reliable high-end knife for use in conditions where I couldn't tolerate a failure... not a shelf queen... despite being a gorgeous knife, with the the most comfortable handle of any knife I own.

I just figure I'm not wealthy enough to spend money on things I am not going to use.

This kind of thinking led me to stop buying flashlights, even though I still appreciate them as a product. Once every need niche has been filled, it usually becomes really hard for me to justify further purchases.
