I'm moving across the Country and looking to sell off some items to help with the cost.

I'm selling my No Weld 2'X72" grinder I built last year. It tracks straight and comes with a 4" drive wheel a 4" tracking wheel and a flat platen attachment. The picture shows a contact wheel. This is no longer on t he platen. The platen comes with (2) 2" idler wheels. I'm not selling the motor with the grinder. Everything was painted with black Rustoleum paint.

Edit: It also comes with both pillow blocks, drive shaft and both step pulleys. The only thing I will be keeping is the motor.

$350 with local pick up. The price of the steel, bearings, nuts and bolts and wheels is more than the $350 price. Just need it to go.

Oh sure... NOW someone wants to sell a grinder cheap in my area!!!

Sorry to see you go, Michael. I really wanted to get to your shop and bug you some day.

Keep me in mind, though, if you have other large knifemaking items that require local pickup. It'll give me a reason to meet you before you leave.

I'd for sure like to have you over before I go. I always like how you roll. You do your own thing and don't try and fit yourself into a little mold of compliance. Hard not to respect that. It would be fun to grind out some blades real quick. I've never done a bowie or anything like that, so maybe we can sketch up a knife, cut it and grind it out? You can take it and finish it out at a later time with your cool carved handles.

Would you be wiling to ship if I arranged a pick up?

I will take it - if I can arrange to have it shipped to Idaho.

Mark, let me get the price for the guy in Georgia. If he decides it's a no go, it's all yours. I'll post here asap after I talk to him and know if he wants to pay the shipping price or not.

Michael

I packed the grinder into a Rubbermaid box minus the 2'X2' plywood base. I screwed the top down and took it to the UPS store and asked them to put the entire package into a box large enough to allow 3" of peanuts all the way around every face. To ship that entire package to Georgia was right around $120 plus $30 for the packaging. So from here to Atlanta we're at $150. If you're closer, it may be a little cheaper, but not much. I'll know tomorrow morning is Georgia wants to pay for the shipping.

Craziness. I thought this thing would be outtah here in about 10 minutes. Nobody locally has stepped up and everyone is tripping on the shipping cost.

Right now, shipping looks like it's going to be right around $150 no matter where it's going. For example. It was $154 to Atlanta, $147 to Belvurde, TX and $139 to San Taz, AZ. It's the weight more than anything at almost 87 pounds all packaged tight and right.

Some math.

(2) 2X2 Idler wheels: $45 ea
(2) Pillow Blocks: $13 ea
(1) 5/8" drive wheel: $55
(2) 5/8" 3 step pulley: $13 ea
(1) tracking wheel: $60

That's $257 and we haven't even got to the cost of the steel and the labor to build the grinder. I'm waiting for a call from the AZ guy right now. Someone needs to step up and buy this package.

Very good deal for some one. Shipping is through the roof now a days and nothing we can do about it? I reciently spent almost $300 in shipping fees for my heat treat oven and a dust collector. No choice in the matter if you need something out of driving distance.
