In the course of my "hangin' with the Ruskies"I was introduced to a great artisan; Joseph Shnayder. We collaborated on an art dagger that I think turned out rather well. There will be many more to come. Joseph is a graduate of the prestigious Viktor Danzig school of design in Moscow.

A banner week for outstanding daggers on the BF.

I imagine it's quite hard to design a piece to this artistic level and yet still have it flow so well.

Very fond of the damascus and blade profile.

Would love to have more details on the dimensions and materials used in the creation of this masterpiece.

Congratulations to Mr. Smith, Mr. Shnayder and of course the owner.
 
Absolutely fantastic. Gorgeous blade and the detail work on the handle is mind-blowing.

Man this is amazing work. I'm not that fond of stones but the craftmanship is just mindboggling.

Having waved this one around, I'm still in disbelief on the overall quality. JD's blade has his always-impressive multibar pattern and the grind and shape are VERY imposing.

Mr. Shnayder's work on the sculpted metal has new secrets revealed around every millimeter. JD's work on the sculpted handle is evident.

American collectors will admire this. Broaden the scope to International collectors, and the appeal is inescapable.

I am pleased to see JD taking on such a bold endeavor. A Mastersmith who is also a world visionary. :thumbup:

The materials used are as follows;
OAL 17.5" blade;12.5', hilt;5"
15N20-1084 six billet composite; Firestorm turkish twist core, straight layer edges 300 layers. 7oz. sterling silver, 33g.14k gold, 7.72 karats diamonds,8.0 karats natural rubies, african blackwood hilt; carved.
And thanks to "severedthumbs" for his help! BTW!! spec piece!! No owner at present.
