Non-convex equivalent of F1 Fallkniven.

The F1, all in all, has a unique combination of

relatively compact size
high quality
full tang
toughness
sharpness
reliability
reasonable price

I have one and definitely recommend it.
Convex edges are easy enough to sharpen in the field.

One more thing about the F1. It is not combat looking and doesnt scare sheeple people.

To sharpen a convex knife you only need some 1220 abrasive paper. You can use a sleeping mat or similar for the soft thing.

I've never cared for a convex edge myself. You can put a nice edge bevel (v grind) on the F1, or the CS Master Hunter in Carbon V or Buck Vanguard are both good choices also.

The Master Hunter in Carbon V was a great knife.

I've been looking for one myself, and they are fetching some pretty big numbers on the auction site...

What a shame that they are no longer made since Camilllus closed!

Thanks for the advices. I narrowed my options to the RC-4 or the CS Master Hunter.
Right now, I can buy a CS Master Hunter for a good price, but it is in San Mai III steel instead of Carbon V. Would this also be a good choiche, or do I better search for Carbon V version?

By the way, I never thought about letting a knifemaker reprofile the convex edge of a fallkniven, but it certainly is worth considering.

You can always just take your F1 to the Spyderco Sharpmaker or similar and put a microbevel on it.
