• Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! I hope that you all have something to be grateful for this year and for many years to come
  • America has reached 250 years, and I am grateful to be here, in the best country in the world. Thank every one of you who helps make this country a better place, those who have gone before and risked it all, and those who've paid the ultimate price to make the United States what we are today.

Happy Birthday America! Let Freedom Ring for all time!

Non-electric drill

The brace and bit have been around for a very long time. The early ones were made of wood !

i love my bit and brace and use it almost exclusively when working with wood...i don't like the whine that the power drill makes. i only use it when i have to...

it is pretty much the same, except the chuck doesn't come off so i can't use it with socket bits...but i don't miss that...its what i have a socket set for. might be a neat feature though...

i love the feel of a good sharp auger bit biting into some nice clean maple....

I prefer a rechargable myself. They are a lot less work. Years ago that is how all the holes were drilled in barns and houses for the wood nails, pins, and for wiring. But if there is no electricity and you have to drill some holes, there is nothing better. I keep a cross cut saw for the same reason (no electricity).
