Non LAWKS CRKT M16s?

Actually, I smack a lot of knives with hammer handles. A lot survive just fine. Mutt's right about the LAWKS system being reliable, however - it will work exactly the same way in every knife, every time, regardless of the condition of the liner - and that is the purest definition of reliability. I'd like to see a really heavy-duty LAWKS system made as a part of a liner-lock system - one milled from a piece of bar stock, instead of a stamped and folded sheet metal component. The safety stop could be increased in size to act as a wedge keeping the lockbar in place, instead of just stopping it after it's been released from the tang. It'd be like a liner lock for the liner lock.

Well, milled or stamped is the difference between a $400 knife and a $40 knife.
Keep in mind that a Sebenza is over 4 bills and still hard to get while the CRKT is an absolute miracle to be so well made for around fifty bucks.

Too true. Just a thought I've been bouncing around my head for a while. But remember, CRKT isn't the only company with a licence for the Lake safety system. Oh well. CRKT makes Lake's Piston lock folder for cheap and that forgives all sins (real or imagined).
