non-metal blades

Anyone out there aware of a good non-metal carry blade? What are the options?

Welcome to the forums. There are many options available. Ceramics, G10, Nylon, glass fiber reinforced plastics. I have an old glass fixed blade kitchen knife that I've thought about making a sheath for.

What are your needs in the knife? If you want something to cut with, then Ceramic would be my recommendation. Mad Dog, Boker, and Kyocera make some good quality fixed blades. Boker makes a folder with a Ceramic blade, but metal handle.

If you just want a "shiv," then Newt Livesay's NRG might be for you. His website is at www.newt.livesay.com

There are many more options available. I'm sure some other forumites can offer more advice.
