• Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! I hope that you all have something to be grateful for this year and for many years to come
  • America has reached 250 years, and I am grateful to be here, in the best country in the world. Thank every one of you who helps make this country a better place, those who have gone before and risked it all, and those who've paid the ultimate price to make the United States what we are today.

Happy Birthday America! Let Freedom Ring for all time!

non metalic custom knives

Does anyone know if any of the custom makers do that stuff?

Most guys in prison are quite adept at using plastic.:D

I think Kevin McClung makes non metallic knives, but he limits who has access to them.

The only one who comes to mind is Warren Thomas, who does CF/Ti with Ti-carbide edges. Keep in mind, if you weren't already, that there's almost no way to get edge retention and/or sharpness equal to a good steel blade from anything OTHER than steel (maybe stellite, but I'm not sure that's sufficiently nonferrous.)

Are you looking for something as a display piece, utility, or emergency use? I used to keep a polymer blade in the shower... always got soap scum on it...

I handled a Warren Thomas at the last show, it was pretty slick with the carbide edge, but that was all metal.

I bet there's still some guys who knap(spelling?) flint knives... ;)

Kind regards,

Jos

Hi Steve,
Thanks for the recommendation. Want a non metallic neck knife to be able to pass through metal detectors at concert events. Crime is getting bad where I live.

Clifford.....as a martial artist, and someone who spent a fair amount of time looking for trouble, found it, but still avoided the felony hits...it might be time to move, and it is certainly time to find a different area for concerts.

What you want to do will, at best, find you having your weapon confiscated and ejected from the concert, and at worst, stewing on ice for a while, with a civil suit waiting for you when you get released.

Good luck, and Best Regards,
