Non military KaBar?

I'm looking for a KaBar. I'd like it to be ecaxtly like the standard USMC kabar's but with one difference. I'd like it not to say USMC on it, or ARMY, or NAVY etc. I'm not a member of the military so I'd really prefer a "plain" KaBar with a stacked leather handle and leather or kydex sheath. I'd also prefer the knife to be made by KaBar.
I looked on the KaBar.com and didn't see one available. And did a few searches on bladeforums, also looked on ebay and searched the google. Is this a hopeless cause? Or are my research skills lacking?

Thanks for any help

If anyone will have it it will be tomars kabars. I'd call or email first.

Current USMC issue IIRC is the ontario version.

I didn't think they made them without the stamp of some branch of the armed forces...

I've owned three, two standard leather handled ones and one rubber handle/serrated model, and they've all been stamped USMC.

why not go for a Ka-Bar 1236 bowie? has a leather sheath but a kydex sheath custom made by one of the talented makers on here wont set you back much.

I have been thinking this same. I would like to have leather handled ka-bar with the brown leather sheath but without the USMC stamp. It feels weird and wannabe to have one since Im not marine. :p

A fine idea but, I prefer 1095 over 4116.

Maybe I'm just going to need to settle for a non-leather handle. Or maybe a knife that's not made by KaBar

Well I can tell ya that nobody (Marines especially) will think you're a wanna be just because your knife says USMC. I feel like the stamp is part of the knife. USMC and Ka-Bar go hand in hand in my mind.

I doubt anybody is going to be looking at my knife close enough to read 4 little letters on it. And I wouldn't care if they did. I just don't want a knife that has the name of a branch of the military I'm not affiliated with on it. Thanks for the help anyway

You can get the miniature version (5.25" blade) of the standard Ka-Bar marked with USA. I don't think they make the full size one with that mark, though. I actually prefer that smaller one, however, so I'd recommend it.

I don't think that anyone would care if it says UMSC as many people have them who are CORP. If you want an alternative here is a TOPS Marine Heat if interested.

they make fullsize kabar's that don't have a branch mark on them.

you could also get a next generation as well.

Why not just get the Ka-Bar next generation fighting knife? It's more or less the same as the USMC fighting knife but with a non-slip handle, more useful (imo) cross guard and pommel, and stainless (or D2) steel. Other than those changes, the geometry is the same as the classic fighting knife and no military branch is stamped on it (not on my son's anyway).

If you want to stick with carbon, you could do a heck of a lot worse than the Ka-Bar Becker BK-7. The blade is similar in size and geometry though a bit more buff than the fighting knife. My son has one of those as well and it's a work horse.

Where can I find one with a brown stacked leather handle and 1095 blade??

Thanks for the replies but, I'm not looking for any knives besides the KaBar Fighting knife. I have plenty of other knives to fill this and other roles. I'm really ONLY interested in a 1095 KaBar with a brown stacked leather handle and no Military markings.

i was wrong sorry about that. the only ones i found that were stamped usa on them are either the short kabar or the large kabar with a tanto blade.

the next gen kabars you can get stamped usa, but they don't have the traditional brown leather wrapped handle.

sorry for misleading you. i didn't mean to.
