In an effort to keep the trade chatter down in the Flea Market as well as keep trades in the Fiddleback sub-forum (I know I don't venture into the WTT forum too often), I'm gonna start this unofficial trade thread. I hope I don't get into any trouble with any of the mods. If I'm breaking any rules, I'll take this posting down ASAP. My intention is to just keep the Flea Market reserved for sales. If it works, great! If not, you can't say I didn't try.

To keep the bargaining/haggling posts down, why don't we try trade listings like this: "I have a Kephart up for trade, looking for Fiddlebacks X,Y,Z. If you're interested, PM me." Throw a lure [post a pic] and wait for the sharks to bite. To avoid confusion, when your blade has been traded, edit your post as "TRADED". These aren't rules, just suggestions.

Familiarize yourselves with the rules guys. And consider becoming a gold member, it really helps the forum and you don't have to worry about whether or not you can buy, sell or trade.

Great Idea Joe. I find myself trading more as well with Fridays being so competitive. This along with the flea market are great additions to Fridays. I also think these might actually help Fridays as well because people can buy freely on Friday knowing they will almost certainly be able to move the knife in these threads if they choose it's not for them.

Thanks for supporting this guys. It seemed appropriate since (lately) the majority of the posts in the Flea Market were trades anyway. People don't really want to let their Fiddlebacks go, they want to trade them for another.

Anyway, I hope this works.

Just in case anyone missed this I'll play...

Yep, still wishing I had a Runt. This isn't the model that drew me in, that dubious honor goes to an old two-wood handled Woodsman from the early days, but it was a Nessie like this one posted in the W&SS section that first made Andy's work catch my attention.

I have one that I dont really fancy that much - prefer to trade - but if you wanna buy it outright, PM me.

I got it 2nd hand, but it appears new and unused.

I prefer 3" blades .. but open to just about most Fiddlers.

Shank - 1/8", O1, Nat Canvas w/nat canvas liners.

Hey all, looking to mix some things up in my collection . I have a 5/32" SFT evergreen Kephart and a 5/32" tapered tang white oak Nessmuk (see below); I am looking to trade for the following:

Kephart: (2014 0228 010): Evergreen Burlap from Shadetree over natural canvas with an orange g10 pinstripe, Trinity Pinout, SFT Tang, Convex on 5/32” thick 3D Spalted 01 steel

I would ideally like to swap the Kephart out for either another ShadeTree Kephart or a bolstered Kephart, as I have 3 x other green shadetree knives and would like some variety! If you are interested, we can do a 1:1 swap (given that both knives are in similar condition) -- or, if you have a tapered tang model, I will cover the cost difference for the right knife. I am also open to trading the Kephart for either a ShadeTree or bolstered Arete.

Nessmuk: (2014 0103 013): White Oak Crotchwood (cut from same special block) over black g10 with an orange g10 pinstripe, Tapered Tang, Convex on 5/32” thick 3D Spalted 01 steel

I'm interested in swapping my nessie out for a 1/8" synthetic (or black/ironwood) handled nessie, that will be put to straight field use. I'd prefer another tapered tang model, but would consider 1/8" SFT on the right knife. The 5/32" nessie is a really nice, well-rounded field knife, that is capable of many chores; the only reason I am considering trading her, is that I would like 1/8" stock for slicing / food-prep, and stable handles for hard use. Also, my photo skills suck, the handle is beautiful in person. According to Andy's original FBF post, he sat on this block of white oak for 5 yrs. prior to using it!

If you are on the fence, or would like to discuss further / do a multi-knife trade / explore other options, just PM me.

Cheers & thanks for looking!

That Nessmuk is gorgeous, I know this nullifies the reason for the entire thread but I would be interested in buying it from you.

Alrighty then due to a flood of pm's I'll offer up this rather amazing Arete to the trade block rather than keep someones grail for myself.

Nothing to offer besides acknowledging that this knife really is something special. You're a mighty fine gentleman to make this offer at all.

Please do not pm cash offers or trade downs + cash, I will however trade up with cash on my part if necessary. I already have someone with dibs if nothing happens with a trade.

What I am looking for:

No clue really other than something just as stunning that I will actually use. Maybe you have the mother of all Runts, or a Woodsman. I will just state things I generally like, note that this is not all inclusive and does not mean a trade has to have any or all of the following.

Qualities I usually like:

Gem Quality woods, bolsters, cornflower, blue sycamore, trinity pins, mosaic pins, emerald burlap, bone linen.

Things I Usually don't:

Osage, reds, black and white burlaps, maroon linen I'm up to my drawers in maroon linen already, G10,

Please do not be offended if I am not interested in your trade, beauty is subjective.

On the chopping block:

Unused, (though I have maybe drooled on it once or twice) Arete 1/8" O1 Spalted tapered to nothingness micarta bolsterd black and white burlap oreo awesomesauceness with mosaic from Blade 13
