Non Traditional Folders

Kershaw flippa in my right front for right now, and HOW, LOL. Canoe in right cargo, and SAK in left cargo. Manly Comrade and Boker Tech Tool 1 slippies are on my radar now, LOL.

While I have all sorts of knives, I mostly carry traditionals. I find the blade shapes more useful for cutting chores. Large one handers are fun, but I find a narrow thin blade to be more useful.

About how I feel. I did obtain a drop point russlock recently and have been carrying it for a few weeks.

Traditional slip-joint for me. I've had all kinds of knives over the years, but the traditional is what I like best. I still have a couple of thumbflickers somewhere I think. Probably in a shoebox in the back of the closet or out in the shed, I don't know. I'm almost 54 years old and I can't say that I have ever needed anything more than a stockman or jack knife. I have a couple of Buck 110's, one a custom shop with Ram's horn but I rarely carry them. Sometimes when I'm hunting maybe. I just like the warmth of bone or stag scales and as I get older, I have a greater appreciation for older and more traditional way of doing things. I even quit carrying around a glockamatic semi-auto and started packing a 5 shot .38. Thankfully, we all have our choices and we should support each other in our hobby, cause we're in perilous times boys.

I have and enjoy both modern and traditional knives, but carry a traditional at least a month for every day I carry a modern OHO. I do keep a largish (5" closed) OHO in the center console of each of our cars, and I carry one always when afield, along with a good fixed blade and an SAK.

I love them all. Well, most knives but I need a pocket clip and prefer a chisel grind.
If I put a pocket clip on my Sodbuster, I think I'd be all set but I refuse to do that.

I seem to flip back and forth constantly. A real identity crisis. :) I honestly prefer to use non tradionals over traditional. More about ease of use with one handed opening and a solid lock. However, I just don't get the same satisfaction. Something always seems to draw me back to traditionals. Not sure what it is. Most days I just compromise and carry one of each.
