How about a Civilian? Oh...nevermind How about an SAK. Can't go wrong. As for the Chive, I'm not sure about the legality over the next few years. SAKs are timeless.

I doubt he'll even carry it very often. Most of us that use our EDCs daily make a point to always carry something, but those who don't have gotten use to making do with other tools or doing without. Good luck.
