None Concealed rig for BK14???

Hey Guys,
I am looking for a way I can carry my BK14 un-concealed whilst using the stock steath. I don't want it to be really obvious that its a knife but it must not be concealed because of CA law. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Well, I would be looking to find a way to put it behind a cell phone clip/carrier. My Samsung smart phone, can easily hid a Jframe Smith, so, a BK14 would be easy.

I have the TDI Clip on mine, and it works great, to just clip and go. As far as it looking like a knife, well, it looks like a knife. You could also just get the TDI clip and clip it in a back pocket, as long as your shirt doesn't cover it, it isn't concealed.

Good luck and let us know what you find.

Yeh I always rock my edc fixed (whatever that may be on any given day) in my left back pocket. The handle sticks out an inch or so so it's not concealed, but no on really knows what it is who isn't in the know about knife handle shapes.

"I bet he's carrying an Izula."

String paracord through the holes on the four corners of the sheath until you have two belt loops. I used the paracord that came with my BK-11 to do the job. You can carry it horizontally on the belt, and it rides nice and secure and is very easy to conceal. I carried mine this way until I got my AZWelke sheath this last week.

Like so.

Some of the other guys have gotten even fancier with their wraps. Some are damn near works of art.

I just stick my 14 down behind my wallet in my rightside hip pocket. It sticks out some so I guess it aint ''concealed''. Not too worried about it lol around here 80% of people carry a gun, so nobody's concerned with a knife.

On a sidenote, I was actually surprised to see how many people carry a knife in Cali cities. I guess since it's nigh on impossible to get a CCW permit, everyone carries a knife to get at least a measure of protection.

Ok thanks guys.
I had it upside down on my belt with about a 1/2inch sticking out from my shirt. When I put it in my pockets it is still under my shirt. My main problem is I live in one of those "Nice, Safe Area's" and I'm 13 so when people see me with a knife there like "OMG that kid has a knife" and start panicking (I never carry at school though, and NEVER an a stupid with them). If there's anymore ideas you guys have please post them
Thanks Again

I think if you're 13 and carrying a knife, you'll get it taken by a cop whether you're concealing it or not. Out in the bush is one thing, walking down the street with it, not as cool. Technically you're not even old enough to legally purchase a knife in most places, so be ready to answer alot of questions and possibly have it seized on the grounds that you're a kid carrying a knife. That being said, I was carrying a machete and a hatchet whenever I was playing in my backyard at that age, but only in the forest of my backyard.

I total understand this but so far I have been carrying my folders with clips showing and walked past cops and I also had one cop who saw the clip showing and obviously was looking at it and he didn't say anything. And when I'm with my friends only the opinel gets to come. I have NEVER been in trouble with the police in my hole life. I dont loiter or anything like that so??
Thank you for your opinion

Well it's good that there are responsible kids like you out there. You seem to be pretty mature in your respect towards knives. I'm a security officer at an inner city high school so I often come across students your age carrying knives, mace, chains etc and they're generally not for good intentions, but I often forget that there are still kids that grew up like I did, and were taught how to handle knives and tools properly, and to treat them and use them right. As long as you react with the same maturity when someone asks you about it, you'd be fine to carry it in appropriate places. I'd still be leaving it at home for any trips to the mall though, and obviously not to school lol.

Ok, for the 'uncealed' (new word!) carry rig, like Moose said, mount a phone case to the front, this one is made for a MOLLE vest/chest/thigh rig: http://www.511tactical.com/All-Products/Bags-Backpacks/Pouches/C3-Case-S-Small-Phone.html

Just use paracord to MOLLE 'lock' it on and put the TDI clip on the other side.

As far as folder go, no one will care as long as the property your on allows it, I have no issues with folders in the mall, but I would not walk around with any fixed blade where there is a chance that someone in any proper position to say it's illegal or not allowed, or there's a chance for a reason for someone to confiscate it.

Note that I said some one in any PROPER POSITION, that means law enforcement, land owner's, or government employees, within their respective jurisdiction, so if I'm in my yard, I don't care who sees me, but if I'm in town, even a mile stretch town, you won't see it unless your looking for it, but it will never be concealed.

Loitering or the like doesn't have anything to do with getting in trouble with the police or property/store owners, it's the officer or the owner of the place you are or aren't loitering that interpret the law at first.

Now, after I said all that, Haze is dead on, you seem to be the most mature 13 year old I have ever talked to about knives, and he is right about the legal age of knife purchases, but that doesn't matter to me, I'm only 17, 16 when I purchased my first knife (el cheapo china for $8), and I own 2 Becker's and several $8 folders. As long as you continue in your ways of respect for knives as tools not toys and/or weapons, you have my respect as an emotionally mature 13 year old, which is rarer than you might think.

Off topic question for you: Are you in Scouts?

Like I said above, I totally agree with this. By the way Haze, I learned respect for knives by teaching myself, sadly Scouts down here barely know what a knives are if it's anything more than a collectors item and/or novelty knife.

Edit: I'm sorry for hijacking the thread, but when I have something to say, I have a hard time condensing it.

No I'm not in scouts because seeing some of the scouts at schools has turned me off joining, alot are disrespectful and not the kind of people I want to bee around.

Yeah same here, I learnt respect for knives by myself and you guys. Now I have my step dad, he teaches me stuff too.

And Haze240 if I'm going to the mall with my friends they stay at home as well, if I'm with my family then they get to come too.
Thank you guys I really appreciate your opinion

Whew, some non shavers in here.

I've carried knives since I was about 8. It was a different world back then. Just a word of advice, if you do have a knife on you, and you are questioned about it, be polite, make sure instead of knife, you use the word tool. If a LEO wants your knife, politely hand it over. Show them you are a responsible person.

Its when you come off like an ass that the trouble really starts. If you want to be a member of the community, you need to act like it.

Other than that, be safe, have fun and use them knives.

I carried a SAK from when I was about 6. Of course that was about 30 years ago...
Only once did I do anything stupid, but fortunately it never came to anything. Regretted that little lapse in judgement ever since.

In my state any 3" knife is legal concealed, folder or fixie. I've wondered about the definition of 'concealed' when it comes to exposed belt clips etc. Story told is longer is ok un-concealed, but I dodge the issue by sticking with 3-inchers for everything except MAYBE hunting on private land (which I have to drive to).
