Hi everyone,

I know there is a lot of people in the US that has the BK as the favorite knife.

But how many of us are there in the nordic region. (Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Faeroes and Iceland.)

I know the Becker is some what expensive for some of us.. but as most of the ones who already have one ...or 4 agree... its worth it.

Anyway... How many are we.

Where do we get the Becker knifes and so on...

I'm from Norway. So that should count 1 as a starter :-)

Stay safe..

My adopted furry son's mother was Norwegian. He likes Beckers but only when they are used to cut ham, bacon, or steak.

I can think of at least two, maybe three off the top of my head.

My family was imigrated from denmark around the turn of the century, plus i have been working on my viking beard:)

My last name is Sorensøn. My family is from Bodo

Sorensøn is not a comon name arround here. Lots of people had their names rewritten when they emigrated from Norway ..or the other nordic countrys. More common is Sørensen (Son of Søren) But it can also be as it say.. Sorensøn (The word "Sønn" in norwegian = Son ..same as the "..sen" ending. Like Petersen, Olsen, Hansen ..and so forth. In many ways the norwegian names are easy to trace the liniage of.. but not when they started to change them from the old family names to "..son of." But then again... Soren is a version of Søren.. that is a danish version of Severin.. Severin again is from Severinus, that came from the familyname Severus ...Which then again mean "strict"....

Hmmm I read to much... he he..

In many ways i think there is more Norwegian descendants on the american continent then there is Norwegians in norway :-) Here we are around 5 million in total now..

Guess i'll stop now.. before it becomes a book.

Stay safe...

There was a large emigration going on arround that time from the nordic region. ..every one wanted the "good life" .... sadly a lot of them sure did get a hard welcome ..
But then again.. lots made it good as well.

Viking beard.. well.. if its cold you need it, if its warm it just looks cool, .....and in the bush you save some food in it. :-P He he he..

Stay safe..

Then I guess I`ll jump in as NBH 2......... (Nordic Beckerheadnumber 2)
Oslo Norway here....

My grandfather is a Norwegian immigrant. Although despite my heritage I've never been to Norway. Someday. Norway bh gathering anyone? :)

Tried to check out the interest for a meet and greet up here, but we are too few located at such remote places from eachother to make it work I think..
Would be really fun though, I know we are atleast 3 or 4 near Oslo, how bout Norwegian Beckerhead, where are you located at?
"Bor du i nærheten av Oslo?"

Ser av profilen at du liker motorsykler og er veteran, driver selv med MC kanskje vi allerede har møttes? (Medlem av Company MC Oslo her....)

Steven Olsen here, son of John William Olsen, son of immigrant Borge Olsen from Oslo Norway. I'm in here in the California desert!

My Dad's Grandmother was Dutch. He says he remembers she was really tall with golden hair, in twin heavy braids that almost touched her knees.

I dunno if that is close enough to count LOL, It's just a lil outside the Nordic area ;)

I think the name was Van Zant or VanZant.

All-American Mutt here, German, Dutch, Irish, Cherokee and Seminole.

KakeFat is from Norway too.

X 2.
I'm all of the above and then some.
Heinz 57 right here!

btw...my wife has Nordic background. Just to stay along the lines of the OP.

Like Thrillbilly said, I'm from Norway.

Can’t say I agree with this one. Most Norwegian knives are more expensive than Beckers. In fact most Norwegian things are generally more expensive than American things.

as to the op my linage is somewhat muddled but I am sure there is some Norse in there somewhere. being Canadian will do that to a person.
