A "Nor'easter" is supposed to hit Long Island tonight. Lot's of wind and rain on the coast and snow inland. I heard this described as a "rare once in 20 year storm" but I dunno...that may have been media fear-mongering. My problem will be basement flooding. I've cleaned the gutters and tarped outside where the water pools, but the damn stainless chimney cap blew off a month ago and I never reset it so I'll get a lot of water down the chimney.
Short of the chimney cap I guess I'm as ready as I can be.
Storm heads East, could become late nor'easter
(AP) - After a foot of snow in parts of the Central Plains and at least one tornado in north Texas where one person was killed, a big storm system is heading east.
Forecasters say the system could pound the Mid-Atlantic States with rain and send a rare springtime nor'easter into parts of New York and Pennsylvania with heavy snow. Rain should spread into the Mid-Atlantic states by tonight and continue tomorrow with strong thunderstorms possible.
The strongest development could happen tomorrow evening with big winds driving the storm.
Western Pennsylvania, upper New York State and and parts of New England could see snow.
