No one mentions these. I have used four or five examples, and liked them pretty well. I think the handles were a bit inferior to the Granfors, but the heads were tough and sharp. Anyone else out there used them?

I had one back in the 70s, that I'm pretty certain was a Norlund. Anyway, I lent it to my brother, who was heading out on a trip to canoe the Allagash River in Maine. Well, no good deed goes unpunished. It's probably still on the bottom of said river.

Yes, I have a Norlund hatchet that I fitted a new handle on last summer. Very nice little hatchet head. Excellent chopper for its size. The local Galyans sells them here. The handles on them look really crappy and the head looked pretty pitted. I thought about picking up another one but it just didn't impress me. The one below is as old as the hills, as they say. I've had it since the mid 70s.

I get some pleasure from finding a relentlessly peaceful use for a combative looking knife.
