Hello to all,

My name is Isaac Kagan, I am 27 yrs old (in August) and I am looking to study under / hang in the shop with an ABS journeyman or master smith, an am more than willing to meet with anyone who has a shop, a good attitude, and is looking to have some fun making knives with someone interested and eager to learn. (doesn't matter if your an ABS smith)

I have taken the ABS intro class at the New England School of Metal Work So I have a basic understanding of forging, grinding, heat treating, and finishing.

I have been dreaming of getting behind a forge since I took the class in March of '13, but am also interested in stock removal work..

I can pay for my own materials and am willing to travel from metro atlanta in any direction (I'm in Marietta, GA)

.. If anyone is interested, you can PM me, or email me at ISKnives at gmail . com.. you can also find me on Facebook by looking for "isaac kagan" and I'm the guy with the cigar in his profile picture.

Hope to hear from somebody!

Georgia has a well functioning knifemaker's guild. Look them up and join. Might contact Scott Davidson or Andy Roy, either for guild info or for possible work.

Isaac,

Good looking knife so far! Our guild website is http://www.georgiaknifemakersguild.com/
There you can find a list of all of our members and where they live. Also, we are having a meeting August 16th in Blairsville, you should try to attend. It's open to everyone and you will get to meet some great knifemakers. Just check the website closer to August and there should be directions on there.
