Northern Virginia Knifemakers?

Anyone still reading this? I'm interested in making knives but have zero supplies. anyone have steel they'd sell?

In the Fairfax area. Close to Centreville. I'm leaving for school in Norfolk soon though

Hello all. I am new here. Love the site.

I Googled Northern Virginia Knife Maker and found this site and this thread. I live in Haymarket.
I am not a knife maker but would love to be. I am a huge do it yourself kind of guy, including amateur gunsmith, classic car builder, etc.
I do not know if anyone here would like to trade some of their knowledge and hands-on training for supplies? Manual labor? Maybe money for lessons? I was recently medically retired after 20 years and looking for a great hobby. THanks for reading and considering me. I'll be lurking in the forums LOL.

I`m in Arlington, and I`m also in the Blacksmiths guild of the Potomac. Its a great group, and helped me heat treat my first few blades. I`m at school right now up in the desolate north, but I would be very interested in some sort of Northern VA get-together. I`ll be watching this thread closely, its nice to see other people in the dot that is Arlington.

Any knifemakers in the Arlington to Front Royal area? I've been making knife's part time since 1994. I recently retired, and am beginning to put more time in to the hobby. I live in Arlington, and have a place in the Shenendoah where I have a fairly complete shop. So, if anyone's out there, pipe up, and introduce yourself.Maybe we can all get together sometime.

Dave
I see this thread is 7 years old and I'm wondering if there are any knife makers/blade smiths in NOVA reading and interested in talking/getting together.

I`m a student, but I`m going to be in Arlington over the summer. Definitely be interested in getting together. Also the BGOP has regular meetings that generally have a few badesmiths in attendance. I`m about as green as it comes, but I`ve got a couple of knives forged and ground out.

Any of you all still active? We should do some sorta meet and greet

Old thread.

If you click on the person's name (e.g. Tim 1) you will see when they last posted. Most have not been around for a good while.
