Northfield #54 Big Jack

I need to check, but I am pretty sure the above information is right. I'll talk to Tyler so he knows for sure.

I ordered a #54 Jack the other day. I LOVE the look of this knife, can't wait until it arrives.
It seems by the measurements that it's the size of the Case Yellow Trapper. Well, I'll know when I get it!

It is the same overall length as a Case 54 pattern Trapper. That's where the similarity ends! The 54 Big Jack is a big solid equal end knife. Heavy Blades and heavy springs. It is fully half an inch thick. The Case 54 Trapper on the other hand is more slender, the California Clip main blade gives a sleek, slender appearance. The slightly curved frame also adds to the sleek look. Same length, quite different knives.

Did we ever get a definitive answer on whether the Northfield #54 Smooth Autumn Gold Big Jack was bovine or camel bone?

Been using my new knife now for 3 days, and I really LOVE this knife. It's got a nice weight to it and blade pull is a real bear-trap, love 'em like this!.
Fit and finish is wonderful, with the autumn bone amber color, it's really beautiful to look at as well.

Is the pull as strong on the #54 Moose as it is the big Jack?

I don't have the new moose, but I have 1 from '09 along with a big jack from '09 and 2 of the new big jacks. The 2 new big jacks are slightly stronger than both of the '09s. The two '09s are the same in regards to pull. I would make the guess that the new moose is relatively the same as the big jacks.... same spring thickness, length, etc, just opens opposite.
