Northwood Knives, any Experience?

I don't think that I would characterize Queen made peanuts as having "heft". Queen made peanuts are slim compared to just about every other manufacturer, which is what I prefer. I am also not convinced that heft is a positive for a small pocketknife. GEC makes good knifes, but no need to bash on Queen without at least providing proof.

Wow, that Ivory Northwood is gorgeous, wish I could find one of those. Thanks so much for the xcellent write, I feel more confident in the quality of the Northwood when it's up against the best of Case

For the price difference, the northwoods should be better. In comparable handle material doesn't the case run around 50 and the northwoods 75?

The regular line if case with stag and CV is around $60 but the Case Select with stag is around $100, so the Northwoods at around $75 is a pretty good value

I paid more for the Case knives than I did for the Northwoods knives. I have been on a vintage peanut kick lately so I haven't bought many new peanuts, but for newer manufactured peanuts the Case Select are some of the priciest.

When Ol' Dave was alive, he had a special deal with Queen to allow him to get a large variety of handle materials. So when it came to something like Ivory or Mammoth, he would have 5 or 6 of them made and so they went like crazy and if you got one, you had something special!

He was always able to get some of the best stuff. :)

Beutiful knife, I actually just bit the bullet and ordered one from KSF, but keep the thoughts comming
