Northwoods #53 Presidential review/ compare contrast

That's funny about the tarnish. I tried to force the bolsters on the blue one to go dark, but it stayed shiny even through mustard & ferric chloride...

I haven't seen any tarnish on mine yet, regardless of sheath storage or pocket carry.

Whatever was causing the tarnish seems to have stabilized only place it is showing up ( hard to capture in picture ) is around the perimeter of the shield, have no clue what could have caused the reaction it happened a multiple of times, and the only knife I've ever had it happened to ?

Wow how did you do that beautiful striped patina on that camel bone pres? I just got a few knives (northwoods pres., and gec tidouete trapper) with 1095, my first 1095 knives. My pres. Was 2nd hand near perfect condition and the owner forced a beautiful smoky blue patina on it which is love and would like to do something cool to the trapper. I'm guessing you used a q tip and whatever liquid you used? Just curious thanks!!
