Northwoods Slim Jack

I was never too crazy about the classic 4-blade congress pattern. That many blades confused me and made my head hurt.:D A two-blade congress like this Northwoods 4 incher is just about right.

That "Slim Jack" looks great, especially the beautiful bone. Could of questions though, since I've never owned a Northwoods pocketknife (I do have one of their drop-point hunters). I'm looking for a gift for a very particular person who's pocketknife blades are worn to stubs.

The appear to be out of stock at that AAPK store. Are they available anywhere else?

Is there any side-to-side blade play at all?

What is the overall length? I'm looking for something around 3".

Bob,the slim line in the first picture is about 4-1/8" closed, the blade is 3-7/16" from tip to bolster, and is 7-1/2" opened up.There is a teeny bit of side to side, nothing too bad and certainly not un-acceptable for a knife in the price range.Check out the gunstocks he just listed there,at 3-1/2" closed, they look good.

Thanks for the info. It would be a replacement for an Old Timer peanut-style knife, so it's probably too long, and a Gunstock too bulky.

Case has some nice peanuts that's I've been considering. But the bone on that Northwoods really caught my eye, so I wanted to investigate.

Thanks again,
-Bob

Yeah, I've found plenty of Northwoods Knives at dealers and eBay, but I haven't found any like Vince's. Doesn't really matter anyway since it's over 4" long.

Heads up,you guys gotta see the Gunstocks that were listed on that AAPK store ! Especially, the stags!

I think Northwoods assembles Queen made parts. But I'm not sure of the Marble's,and the steel (on this Marbles trapper) is something I've never heard of,but I think it's similar to D-2

Maybe someone will chime in with some specifics.I just know they are well made,
