Norton Belt Chatter

I've used Cubitrons for years and decided to try Norton Blaze belts. They definitely seem to last longer which is fantastic. But every one I have tried, has terrible side to side chatter. Is this normal for Blaze belts or did I just get a not so great batch?

Could be the batch. I don’t use Norton but I’ve noticed it on VSM belts as well.

It may be the batch, I use 36 grit blaze belts and don't remember ever having any side to side chatter.

Any issue with the conversion, the process of turning abrasive logs into smaller belts can cause this. Runnout is a factor and so is the seam. If anything is off you get chatter. Norton is among the best. In addition, they don't allow outside converter companies to do that work. It's all in house. Likely just a bit off that day or new guy doing seams.
