I finally shot a buck this morning first one in three years. I've been letting go and letting go This deer actually charged me and I had to shoot him again. He is nothing special but he was a mature deer and needed to go he just did not have a big rack. But the only reason I told you that is because where all this took place I found a huge mass(burl) on an ash tree can't wait for the rut to be over so I can go cut it

good lookin buck bro. i'd say 1 1/2 - 2 year old buck... that a winchester Model 70? i spy too? what cal?

My step-father got an 8-point the day before Christmas over above Vicksburg. And my nephew got another 8-point in the same area three or four days ago.

nice deer, i decided i have to stop being lazy next year and get tags and all set up. this season, i happened to be camping a few times and had some amazing chances at a few good bucks. good to hear about the good hunting, lets see that burl too. you should do a hunting knife with some of that stag and the burl.
