crkt made a couple ikbs flippers designed by onion. i wanted to get one but i never heard much about them. how does the steel hold up?

I don't have the Eros, but I do own a Ripple. I have the Ripple 1 in blue, and I must say, I'm *still* impressed with the design. Excellent fit & finish from the assembly plant in Taiwan also, and I have had no problems with the Acuto+ steel (I'd buy it again without hesitation.) Just keep in mind that it's very much a 'gentleman's knife' for light to medium tasks. **Warning: the IKBS may ruin all other flipper folders for you...** :D

I would expect no less from the Eros. The milled titanium frame looks fantastic; the entire package is super-light. Cool looking blade on it, great shape to the handle, very decent materials--this Ken Onion guy seems to know a thing or two about knives! ;)

I just can't get past that weird pocket clip though :/

I'll second this. I own an Eros and a Ripple, and currently edc the Eros. Great knife for an office environment. Super fit and finish. I don't even mind the pocket clip. Flipper is so smooth and quick. Highly recommended.

I have both an Eros and a Ripple. The Eros is one of my favorite knives. The quality on both is equal to that of any of my Kershaw or Spyderco knives.

I wouldn't touch the average CRKT with a 20' pole, but these seem alright.

The Ripple and Eros are much nicer than the "normal" stuff from them...of course they are priced much higher than the regular CRKT line.

In general, I've gotten where I don't care much for their stuff. Interesting concepts and designs, but the f&f and overall quality leave a lot to be desired. To be fair, they are probably "ok" considering the price.
I've had several items from them, and traded most off. Kept a Natural 2 and the Eros.

I had one briefly. I was impressed but it just didn't speak to me. However, given the improvement of the Eros over the Ripple, I am excited to see the next Ken Onion/CRKT knife.

I have a first production ripple and the eros. The eros is better quality but that's probably due to my getting a first production run ripple which i still like a great deal. The eros is scarey light - to me - and it is a wicked stabber as KO himself said.

I have the larger version Eros. It's a nice knife. The f&f is flawless but it just doesn't do it for me.

The very reason I bought it was because I wanted a very light, slim, gentlemen's folder to edc with a suit or business attire.

It is perfect for that! Problem is, in the process I learned that I dont like very light, slim, gentlemen's folders that are perfect for suits and business attire. :D

Seriously though I will say the knives are absolutely gorgeous. Ken Onion designs are nothing if not beautiful. I just prefer knives with a lot more beef to them.

I've presently got it up on the for trade forum. I'll most likely switch over to the for sale forum next.
