4 - quick soak in vinegar again to bring out temper line.
5 - quick rinse with acetone to make it "pop"

Tell more about the acetone.
What does it do?
Does it have to be post vinegar?

ddean - the acetone is one of those "secrets". It works "post anything" to clean up an etch and make it darker. You'll get the darkest results after FeCl. That's the most I know. Beyond that, if it will work with mustard, etc....I don't know.
