Not a Seahorse whittler, but...?

Hello all! I'm looking to get a morrow saddlehorn made for my birthday, but I kinda want something before then. I really like the looks of the Seahorse whittler from Case, but I just don't trust Case. I'd rather have a Queen, but Queen doesn't really have anything like the Seahorse. What can anyone here suggest? Thanks!

Sincerely,
Anthony

by the by, how come there aren't that many slipjoints put up for sale in the exchange forums?

This is a long shot:), but run a search for Balloon Whittler(s). They're somewhat like the Seahorse, but made by a few higher end companies(Case Classic's, Winchester, etc...).

HTH:D:).

the case seahorse whittler is actually really good qaulity. I have one in the vintage bone, and one in the Jade bone. Th e qaulity is much better than the other case knives. Before you reject it, perhaps you should check one out?

I may try it out, but how come no one thought to suggest the Bulldog Viking Whittler? I found it today, and my jaw just dropped! Does anyone know if this knife is comparable to the Seahorse in quality? Where can I get a knife from a reliable source where they might be willing to check the knife before sending it out (either the case or the Bulldog)? Thanks!

Sincerely,
Anthony

Hey SpyderJon, being in Blacksburg, you're only 3 hours or so from Smokey Mtn Knifeworks in Tenn. Why not take a day trip and check out the knives you mentioned yourself? Trust me, this place is worth the drive. There's also NewGraham in your general area IIRC.

Chris
