Not as much love for the Manix 2?

Everyone seems to praise and recommend the paramilitary 2 but I don't hear as much about the Manix, which is about the same size and uses similar materials, and costs a little less. What do you guys think? I ordered one to see what the deal is, I carry an s110v pm2 exclusively now after giving my dragonfly and delica away because they were a little small and lightly built for what I need these days.

Got a pm2 in a drawer somewhere. I really should trade it away.

Manix 2 has better ergo and blade shape for my needs. Manix 2xl is even better but it's big for dress clothes.

Really wish my regular manix 2 has skeletonized liners to cut down on the weight. May have to find a sprint run. It's an ounce heavier than the pm2. I think that's what really holds it back.

Other than that I'm pretty much done buying other pocket knives. The manix 2 and XL is it for me.

It's a personal preference thing. Their both great knives in my opinion. I have both but, as much as I like my PM2, I tend to carry one of my Manix 2s more often.

I have a Manix 2 LW and it is one of my most carried knives. The blade shape and size are perfect for EDC and the knife only weighs around 3 oz. It is just a great knife.

The PM2 and Manix's are my favorites.

Both get pocket time.

I do prefer the LW's over the G10 because they are Light Weight.

I have 2 Manix sprints, a Cruwear and M4, and a LW. I like the LW much more than I thought I would, and carry it many times more often than the other two combined because it is so light. It is one of my light and comfy "chill-at-home" knives. All of them are superb to play with, excellent smooth action.

I really like my Manix 2 XL. It bumped my Hap40 Delica for a few solid weeks.

I`m on my first PM2 now so I have to give it some more pocket time before I can make a ruling.

The Blurple S110V Manix2 has skeletonized liners. One of the best deals out there.

Manix2 is easily one of my favorite knives, far beyond the PM2. I carry the LW S110v the most, and the skeletonized versions are a must if you go with the G10 IMO.

I find the grip more versatile on the Para2 and I dislike all of the superfluous jimping on the Manix2. During hard use that much jimping is hard on my hand. Other than that I actually find the shape of the Manix2s handle to be very ergonomic. They are both amazing knives but I prefer the Para2 myself. That said, I think part of it is also that the internet hype machine got ahold of the Para2. If you start doing internet searches for the ideal EDC you will get many, many pages raving about the Para2. The hype machine can be very self perpetuating once it gets started.

The price difference is partly because the liners are not skeletonized and partly because the liners are not nested.

One other thing that people don't mention enough. The CBBL like the backlock has a bias towards closing unlike liner, compression and frame locks. The CBBL and backlock are also both ambidextrous while most of the other locks are not. Although I love the comp lock I also really like that the CBBL lock has that bias towards closing.

I like the Manix 2, but I got a little burned out with all of the Sprints and Exclusives. It's a great design, but it's just not my favorite.

The LW version is a really sweet design. I am hoping for a sprint of that version in an interesting steel.

I've got a few Manix models and definitely carry them much more than my PM2s.
In fact, every time I buy another PM2 I wind up selling after a short time, and I know it's not a popular opinion around these parts, but I just can't warm up to the popular Paramilitary 2.

I heavily carried a LW Manix 2 for a couple of years. Before that it was a PM2. I've been on a PM2 craze since I picked up the S110V PM2 in the beginning of the year. Although I have more PM2's than Manix 2's, I still have several and they are great blades.

I think with the multiple PM2 sprint runs this year there is naturally more talk about them but I wouldn't hesistat to carry a Manix 2. The lightweights are nice because they are so light weight but I also think there is something to say about the sturdy feeling of the G10 models. All 3 models are winners in my book.

I feel the same way. Never really felt that the PM2 was anything but average. I much prefer the Manix2. I sold the couple PM2's I once had. Decent knife but it just doesn't do it for me.

The Manix2 and Yo2 I find much more to my liking.

I love my Manix's I have 2 XL's I have the LW with translucent blue scales and the Blurple G10 which is on my pocket right now and I love them all so much. I don't know what it is, but for me the knife looks so awesome and feels great in hand!!! what really won it over for me was the XL in all black and how much of a beast that knife is!!! I am taking a camping trip beginning of September and thinking of getting a new XL just to take with me and "hard use" while I am in the woods and come back with a video review or reg review with lots of pics... Thoughts???

I got the Manix in today, I went with the standard black g10 version but now I kinda wish I got the blurple s110v one. I did notice the liners aren't nested and it weighs more than the pm2. The weight isn't troublesome to me but it's weird to me that skeletonized liners aren't standard, I guess they want to keep the cost down. Time will tell how it compares to the pm2, it takes me a while to form a real opinion. It will at least be nice to have some variety since the pm2 was my only folding knife. My first impressions are positive mostly but like others have said the jimpimg is on the extreme side and it's questionable whether it would help with grip since it isn't actually very sharp. The deep carry clip will be here Friday so I will start carrying it then. The only thing I don't like, and the reason it took me until now to buy one, is the plastic ball bearing cage. I'm sure it will end up being fine but I would feel better having a replacement in my tool box in case.

I love my LW Manix2. The ergonomics work much better than the PM2 for me, and the BB lock works great.

I like my Manix 2s a lot, more than I thought I would when I first got one. But I tend to carry the PM2s more often. The Manix is a bit bulkier in the pocket and the weight of the G10 version is the biggest downside. The ergos are definitely great and my Manix LW is great, I just do not like the BD1 steel. I need to get an S110V LW, then it would be in my pocket a lot more.
