Not bad for a beginner

Curious about the blade steel you use. Do you know what type of material the blades are made from? Any idea about the hardness you're getting with your heat-treat? Nice work & looks like a lot of fun.

The most recent was 1095 with the obvious Hamon Japanese heat treatment,I would bet it is in the high 50's and low 60's
 
You are doing GREAT work JBALL!.. I am not a fan of the holes,star shapes in the blades. But thats just my opinion.Everthing else I love! Please keep making and posting.

I'm not either but when requested I make the customer happy ,the blade you refer to is a lawnmower blade or there would be no hole
